Anyone can write an article, but to make it readable to your users you need to make sure you take note of the following information.
The Leading Paragraph
The first or "leading" paragraph of your article is intentionally separated so that it can be displayed in widgets on your website, and in other news feeds. The leading paragraph should contain some basic information about the article, and entice the reader to read on.
The Body
The body of your article is the main content, without the leading paragraph (because we've already typed it in above!). It should flow on from your leading paragraph and provide all of the information or story that your article will tell.
Grammar, Spelling, Punctuation
We've made it as easy as possible to get your spelling correct by providing an in-editor spell checker (the icon in the toolbar), but you should always proof read your article before publishing it.
The one thing that we can't help you with is your grammar and punctuation - that's down to you! It's always a good idea to type up your article in a word processor like Microsoft Word and take advantage of their advanced proofing tools. Once you've typed up your story, you can paste it into the "Edit Article" page in the CMS.
Colours & Other Styles
Just because you can change the colour of your text, doesn't mean you should!
Use the options in the toolbar to help you emphasise parts of your story that you want your readers to take more notice of, but remember that sometimes "less is more" when it comes to styling your text.
To Emphasise particular words or phrases, make them bold, or to emphasise sentences or paragraphs take advantage of in-built features like blockquotes (the icon in the toolbar) and cards.
Where possible, your article should avoid using coloured text to ensure that it is readable by everyone!
